As part of the Digital India initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, NIC has developed the mano hospital and Online Registration System (ORS) applications. The ORS portal was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 1st July 2015.

NIC developed the NextGen eHospital project with the vision healthcare services to citizens across the of improving the delivery
ofcountry.
Digitization
The NextGen eHospital application is a cloud-based Hospital Management Information System for the digitization of internal workflows and processes in hospitals.

The NextGen eHospital system is a one-stop solution which helps in connecting patients, hospitals and doctors on a single digital
platform.
Architecture
The NextGen eHospital application is a web-enabled, workflow-based application available on the cloud and is used by over 1,575 hospitals
across the country.
The NextGen eHospital
The mano hospital application is being offered as an “as-is” product to government hospitals across the country through the SaaS (Software as a Service) model. The modules of the NextGen eHospital application currently available on the cloud include Patient Registration (OPD & Casualty), OPD Clinic, IPD (Admission/Discharge/Transfer), Billing, Radiology Information System, Lab Information System, Store and Inventory, Dietary, Appointment, Laundry, Ambulance, Hospital Admin, Centralized Order Entry, Search, MRD, Operation Theater, Allied Services, Feedback, Reports, and Dashboard.
The e-Blood Bank application facilitates the implementation of a
complete blood bank management system.

NextGen eHospital Objectives
The NextGen eHospital project was initiated with the following objectives:
- To provide the NextGen eHospital, e-BloodBank and ORS applications to government hospitals
- To provide online patient portal for delivery of citizen centric, such as online appointment booking, access to lab reports, and blood availability status.
- To offer application related technical support to the hospitals through a dedicated Call Centre/ Helpdesk.
